Manchester City 1956 FA Cup Final Goalkeeper Shirt After serving in the Luftwaffe Bernhard 'Bert' Trautmann spent time in a POW camp before his eventual release and subsequent signing for Manchester City. Despite losing in the 1955 Cup Final City made it back to Wembley the following year and made no mistake against Birmingham City, a game in which Trautmann cemented legendary status by completing the game with a broken neck.
