Brazil 1958 / 1962 World Cup. Pictured is Garrincha who, after Pele was injured, almost won the World Cup for Brazil on his own in Chile. Garrincha was as brilliant on the pitch as he was wild off of it. He is known as the greatest dribbler in soccer history even though he was born with crippled legs. Besieged by marital & tax problems, Garrincha (the "songbird") died in January 1983 of alcohol abuse.

Brazil beat Italy in the greatest World Cup Final ever to claim the Jules Rimet trophy outright after victories in 1958 and 1962. Edson Arantes do Nascimento (Pele) was no. 10! The number one shirt of all time according to The Times top 50.

Carlos Alberto Torres famously captained the Brazilian national team to glory in the 1970 World Cup. In total he played 53 games for Brazil scoring 8 goals including one in the final of the 1970 World Cup one of the greatest goals in the history of the tournament.
A cultured defender, Carlos Alberto played for a number of clubs in the Brazil including Fluminese and Santos before making his way over to America to play for the New York Cosmos alongside Pelé.

Jairzinho started his career with Brazilian club side Botafogo where he made is debut at just 15 years old. Initially, Jairzinho was forced to play on the left wing as the player’s hero and former great Garrincha played in his favoured position on the right. Following the retirement of Garrincha after the 1966 World Cup Jairzinho was moved to right wing for both club and country which is where the player achieved his greatest success.
Jairzinho went on to record his place in the history books by scoring in every round of the 1970 World Cup Finals. In total he scored 33 goals in 81 games for Brazil.
